Prose Poem For Class...

 

Fuck love? No, I’m just going to put it on the backburner for now. I realized there’s a thin line between compromising and dictating when it comes to relationships. If change is needed for you to be with someone, you shouldn’t be with them. Never compromise your character; because once you do that, you’ll compromise anything. Then your relationship is a dictatorship. You have to know yourself before you can share yourself with someone else. A lot of people are in love with the thought of love. But what is love? Late night conversations, mental and sexual penetration, mostly mental because love will leave your head fucked. You can’t fuck love like love fucks you. Love isn’t going write a poem about you, love will move on. Love is colder than Alaskan winters, love is bitter like grapefruit. Love is going to be the backburner for awhile. Well at least until I can actually tell you what love is. Right now it’s just a feeling, a feeling that I can’t put words to. What’s love? It’s indescribable.

This weeks Sneakerhead is Jauhonn Tolbert-Patterson. Another sneakerhead from my hometown, Grand Rapids, MI. I've known Jauhonn all my life...literally. He's like a big cousin. I heard through the grapevine that he had some heat. He's been collecting shoes since 2004, he has over 90 pairs of Air Jordans and Nikes. "Even though I rock a lot of SB dunks, my favorite pair of shoes would probably be my DMP VIs or Carmine VIs." His advice to the up and coming sneakerheads, "The advice I would give to the younger or newer heads would be to buy what you like. When I 1st started, I was all about getting the shoe that was hyped up. Now I just buy what I like. Sometimes I go months without copping just because I don't like what's being released." Release Reminder: Air Jordan Retro 3 White/Cement

Jordan Brand is starting off the year right with the release of one my personal favorite Jordans. The Air Jordan retro 3 will be releasing in less than a week, Jan.22. 2011 to be exact. This is a classic colorway of an iconic shoe. For those of you that don't know this is the shoe Michael Jordan wore when he beat Dominique Wilkins in the 1988 dunk contest. Enough on the history, grab your pair next Saturday. They are a general release so they won't be that hard to pick up. I know most Footlockers, Champs and Finislines will have them. My good friends are Studiiyo23 will have them also! Retail on these are $150! Good luck everyone!

Mr.C is from my hometown Grand Rapids, Michigan. We haven't met in person yet but I was informed that he had some serious heat. Mr. C is 21 yrs old and has been collecting since 2001! He has over 185 pairs of  Jordans, Nike basketball shoes and Air Maxes. "I mostly do original colorways,OG,LS or quick strikes." Next time I'm in GR we're definitely going to get up and talk kicks! This is an introduction I guess. I'm a 20 yr old college student. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan moved to the Twin Cities when I was 6 or something like that.
